从穿戏服的疯子到殉道者————回顾《蝙蝠侠:侠影之谜》和《黑暗骑士》
&&&&& 《蝙蝠侠:黑暗骑士崛起》上映之际,我也很应景地写下有关《侠影之谜》和《黑暗骑士》的感受,两部片我看过多遍,量数上说明了电影的优秀。无论话题还是思想,《黑》胜出一筹已是无可辩驳,但我却是《侠》看得更多些,这多少反映出我是一个乐天派。
当年《侠影之谜》的起源之说看得饶有兴致,虽叙述正经不二但不失可看度,值得反复品味。《黑暗骑士》则一条道到底,摒弃漫画的娱乐色彩,遁入严肃的叙事氛围,使观者陷于一个巨大的影像漩涡。系列的创作方向非常明确,第一部开启传奇一生,第二部跌入低谷,高开低走到《崛起》中再次达到高峰。从诺兰构建的宏大背景看,蝙蝠侠打击犯罪的案例绝不限于此,但这三部之所以成为导演的选择,无外乎它们代表了布鲁斯·韦恩最重要的三个人生阶段。尽管终章未看,但从片名也可知这是一个正义得到回报的终结,也让这一系列有了其他系列无法比拟的连贯性。
《侠影之谜》的时间跨度最大。少年、青年、壮年,内容庞杂不说,还要体现布鲁斯思想转变,《侠》的工程量可想而知。令人惊叹的是在各个方面都巨细无遗的情况下,还能保证观赏性,可见影片情节编排力的大胆。说到编排,诺兰擅长的时空交替手法让《记忆碎片》长久以来被影迷津津乐道。限于题材或是首次执导商业大作,这样的技法在《侠》中并不张扬,恐怕他也希望最大可能的保证影片的稳定性。由于集中关注了布鲁斯的成长,蝙蝠侠的由来,影片没有提出什么宏大的命题,所强调的正义是我们烂熟于心的。不过难能可贵之处在于他为我们埋下了一粒种子:蝙蝠侠为什么不主观的杀人,究竟是什么力量支撑起他的道德底线?在影子军团要布鲁斯杀死一个罪犯时,他不杀生的理由:“这使我们有别于敌人”,没有明确答复,但或多或少告诉我们私人的制裁注定无法长久,更无法惠及百姓。只有建立起公正的法律体系,主持光明的宣判才能让公众明确罪恶的界限,净化世人的心灵。所以不难理解像《守望者》里的罗夏为何会迎来自己的穷途末路。如此说来,蝙蝠侠存在的目的是怀着一种发现者的心用不正常的手段搜寻正常的方法来构建乌托邦理想城市。攘外又要安内,恐怕只有这样无法知晓其身份的“佐罗”才能涉足。
《黑暗骑士》初期哈维·丹特正是蝙蝠侠心中那个正常方法的可能,后期揭示了现实始终无法成为乌托邦,没有绝对平衡的世界。将犯罪这种现实里正常存在的现象无限打压,必将遭受“夹缝求生”般的绝地反扑。《黑》从头至尾都进行着混乱与秩序,正义与邪恶的博弈。正像正义被扼杀到极点诞生蝙蝠侠一样,小丑在犯罪被密闭到真空时出现,同样的煽动效应,同样的符号特征,同样的张扬,就像“尼奥”与“史密斯”,只有手握特权的竞争对手互相制衡才能体现造物主的公平。这注定是一场共赴毁灭的争斗,无论输赢,都牺牲太多,就像宇宙大爆炸。关键的生死存亡之际,人们并未依靠蝙蝠侠而是靠自己的希望救了自己,这是唯一的欣慰,也难怪爆炸后的宇宙是冷却和宁静。不过在刚刚到来的宁静还未站稳脚跟,一场灾难又要将其倾覆,于是蝙蝠侠做出了最大可能的牺牲——承担,用崇高的行为诠释了一个灵魂的多面,用自己的脊梁给别人攀附——这完全不是与生俱来的品质,是纯然的后天因素造就的。人们可以对他嫌恶,但他自己却要保持一种冷淡,蛰伏不动的形象,这令人伤痛又耐人寻味。
我想这样的形象以及他的行为准则是主创们对布鲁斯成长过程中的反复思考而总结出来的。青年的布鲁斯曾经无法弄清自己与世界、社会的关系,在彻底思索了什么促使自己痛失双亲的根源后,开始苦修,培养双面性,用富家子弟的门面掩饰深思明察的心。不过在《黑》的最后无论作为亿万富翁还是蝙蝠侠都无法让人觉察真正的自我,我们痛苦地感觉到有一种辉煌的元素被埋在了墓地里,像深山里躺着的黄金无法预测他的光亮何时闪耀那般难熬,这宝物被莫须有的罪名沉重的掩埋,你就感觉到这世界仿佛也被偷去了一般。
哥谭,相信是蝙蝠侠世界中永恒的主题。这座城市一再用自己的行动去解释蝙蝠侠行为的动机,这也是蝙蝠侠信念难以动摇的原因。相信未来,相信怯懦和虚伪背后仍有一米阳光洒在心灵某处不为人知的闰土上,布鲁斯有一种比智慧更尊贵的东西,正直忠诚的心!哪怕蝙蝠侠可以不存在,只要信心不失是最后的结果,那么抹去一个符号就是可以无所谓。哥谭的人民知道有这样一个“罗宾汉”,却未必知道有这样一个殉道者,但银幕外的我们知道,知道他牺牲了什么,知道有这样一个水晶似透明的灵魂在周围纵横着虚伪道路,充斥着漂亮谎话,环绕着污垢海洋的时候晶莹透亮,知道他用行动肃清一切。
把一个模式化的单面形象拉升到拥有古典悲剧般意味的立体人物,把希望与绝望具象,电影展现的形式很高。

And then through The Dark Knight we would bring him out during the magic hour and we changed the suit accordingly so he withstood that kind of exposure. But also the character himself has the reputation now, so he’s able to expose himself more and still intimidate people.
