What the developers have to say:
Why Early Access?
&WWII Online has a long history of development and over the years, the game has changed and progressed with the help of our community. As we approach a release on Steam, Early Access will allow us to be able to introduce the Steam Community to our game and allow us to solicit important feedback from this new group of players before a full release.
Our development team has been committed to very transparent communication throughout the development process and are excited to solicit feedback from not only our team members and veteran players, but also the Steam Community to help create a unique and immersive combined arms experience for all of our players!&
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
&We anticipate that we will be in Early Access for at least 6 months as we make changes and improvements to game play and infrastructure&
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
&We have laid out an ambitious roadmap for development that includes additional weapons,
infantry characters, vehicles, integrated voice communication, and an expansion on how many users can be online in the game world at one time.&
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
&Currently the game is stable and playable. There is plenty of content available. The game is also actively being developed and updates are being prepared that will add more playable content for users as well as bug fixes when they are necessary. The development team is actively engaging the community to help set priorities and solicit suggestions for new content and tweaks to game play.&
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
&No. The pricing will be the same both during and after the Early Access period.&
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
&The WWII Online community has always been a large part of the game. The current development team is made up almost exclusively of people who started out as community members and players. This fact has led our team to highly value communication and transparency between the development team and the community. Everyone on our development team, from the top to the bottom of our organization, is both involved with and a part of the community. We already have a track record of involving the community in decisions regarding game play and vehicle sets, and we intend for this to continue as we release on Steam.&

12 September
Good morning everyone.I wanted to come give you an update on the rollout status for today. As you know, we had scheduled the release of the game for Europe today.
Unfortunately we've made the decision to postpone the full release to Europe in order to address some of the resolution issues that we've seen since the start of our Steam availability. One of the biggest things that customers have been reporting and one of the things that has been the most has been the most frustrating to them is an inability to save changes to the game resolution. Our development team has identified the issue causing this and has been working on a solution. The suspected cause for this behavior is non-standard characters in the file path (such as accented characters, for example). In order to allow for us to fully test the patch to correct this issue, we have decided to hold of on releasing to the majority of Europe until later in the week. We will be opening up access to the UK and Ireland, as we feel that the potential for this problem to manifest itself in those areas is relatively lower than in the rest of Europe. We know that you all have been patiently watiting for the game to be available to you, and we appologize for making you wait a little longer. One of the reasons why we have been staggering the release is to be able to address issues such as this. We hope that you understand the reasoning behind this delay and we expect to be able to release in the rest of Europe later in the week.
We will keep you all updated as to when we expect this to occur. We do still expect to be fully released by September 22 as we originally stated.

Thousands of new players are joining WWII Online as we speak! The game population has reached the highest levels it has in many years and we owe that to our new soldiers inbound from Steam, and to our existing guys who helped us make it happen - WOOT! HOP IN GAME, MAJOR BATTLES UNDERWAY!Currently there at 5 AO's per side available which uses the underpopulated sides balancing logic we recently introduced. That means there are 10 battles at play fighting over ownership of Europe. We're seeing players working together to tow in new vehicles, transport their friends around, join tank columns, run 70 man paratrooper drops, running fair mile (boats) down the river, and so much more - WOW! It's really exciting! Here's a quick look at the German training ground as of this writing:Every soldier must first complete some basic training so that they can be an effective and knowledgeable soldier.TRAINING SUBJECTS INCLUDEMovementUsing the RiflemanCommunicating in gameUnderstanding your heads up displayNavigating the map to find the battlesPlease let your friends know about our game! “The battles that follow aren’t typical of most first-person action games.”“an incredibly fun and long lasting game for any war gamer or history buff. ... you’ll still be playing this months, or even years, from now.”8.4/10 – “it’s remarkably compulsive. The concept and the individual challenges are unique, and the sheer difficulty of it makes riding a tank for 20 miles peculiarly rewarding. ... there’s nothing else quite like it.”4/5 –

Buried by a Welsh beach for 60 years, the World War II fighter that has emerged from the seas

It has been hidden under the the sands and waves since it crashed off the coast of Wales in 1942. But now this wreckage of a rare World War fighter plane may soon be back on dry land.Described as 'one of the most important WWII finds in recent history', the location of the

Robert Elliott walked away from the incident without a scratch but
tragically went missing in action just three months later serving in
the American's Tunisia campaign in North Africa.
These incredible pictures show how the
previously undetected Lightning suddenly appeared on a
Wales beach in 2007. Shifting water displaced sand which had hidden it
for 60 years and revealed a gem find for aviation buffs.
But now a charity has announced plans to next year retrieve the wreckage. The
International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery are looking for
support and a British museum who will accept the fascinating American
machine as a gift to display at their venue for history lovers.TIGHAR
are the only non-profit organisation of their kind in the world and
work tirelessly retrieving plane wrecks of historical importance and
donate them to museums for the public to enjoy.

Gardner Island in the Pacific to find clues of missing American
aviation legend Amelia Earhart.
Following that project, TIGAHR will
turn their attention to 'The Maid' and are trying to secure funding to
pull the buried plane from the Welsh sands.
The group have been in discussions
with the Imperial War Museum who were on site in 2007 as they performed
an analysis of the Maid. The aim was to determine if it could be safely
retrieved and how they can stop the aged machine disintegrating when
Ric said: 'The

the proven processes involves partially dismantling the aircraft and
submerging the pieces in tanks of a special solution through which a

end result is a relatively stable historic artefact that would
