Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei, Peter Gade and Taufik Hidayat stand as true legends among the world&s badminton players, with a wealth of illustrious accomplishments to their names. But they didn&t get there alone&throughout their journey they had the tireless support of people who believed in them and the sport of badminton. Now, the Legends want to give back.&
The Vision
To express their gratitude towards those who helped them prosper, the Legends aim to transform badminton into a major global phenomenon. These four kings all stand firm with this overall vision, and wish to realize it in their own individual way.
Realization of The Vision
The four Legends will enact a global badminton tour to heighten the sport&s popularity internationally. Through exhibition matches and clinics aimed at young players, the Legends will spread the joy of badminton across the world. Yonex is resolute with these four Legends, offering its full and complete support to realise their vision every step of the way. With a global network of coaches and experts, Yonex offers its thorough support for these events on every level.
Hailing from China, Malaysia, Denmark, Indonesia, these Legends of modern badminton have been decorated with several distinguished titles, with three Olympic medals, six World Championship titles, and nine All England titles between them.
The Legends& Vision project was first announced in March at the 2015 Yonex All England, and the first leg of its global tour was held in Beijing, China in May. The second leg of the tour was held in Jakarta, Indonesia in August, with the third held in October in Copenhagen, Denmark. The fourth and final leg of the tour is to be held in December in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
