Nintendo has announced today they will be teaming up with the popular online delivery service Loot Crate to help its fans receive select amibo figures after their initial launch on November 21.
Loot Crate will feature a new && which will allow its subscribers to receive 10 pre-selected amiibo figures divided into three separate Loot Crate shipments throughout the holiday season. By subscribing to this new service, Loot Crate guarantees the 10 pre-selected amiibos will make their way to customers, with the additional five pre-selected amiibo figures being revealed through Loot Crate soon as well as a number of surprises for both Super Smash Bros. and amiibo fans.
I&m already a subscriber to the Loot Crate service, or rather, my wife has subscribed for us, and I&m a big fan of their service. I was already planning on picking up amiibo figures for work purposes, so I might as well have them delivered via Loot Crate&s new service and hopefully get some sweet exclusives in the meantime.

&is less than 24 hours from its release on the Xbox One, but we&re already hearing more details regarding the next chapter in the Halo franchise, Halo 5: Guardians.
Over the weekend, some footage that is believed to be taken from Halo 5: Guardians& multiplayer that shows off some new abilities, such as the ability to sprint, leaked online. Josh Holmes, head of Halo 5: Guardians, then confirmed the leaked footage, and instead of condemning whoever leaked the footage, decided to take to his &to address it while sharing some new info regarding the game.
Holmes confirmed descope will be back in Halo 5 and there will be no penalty for hip firing, no movement penalties when scoping or zooming, and no flinching.
With less than 24 hours until The Master Chief Collection releases, I'm curious if its launch will allow Holmes or MIcrosoft to make any announcements regarding Halo 5: Guardians.

Game developer Jagex is expanding its RuneScape franchise beyond the MMO space for the first time with Chronicle: RuneScape Legends. Launching in 2015, the collectible card game (CCG) will be playable across PC, Mac, tablets and smartphones.
With 13 years of mythology to work with, a small team at Jagex has been developing an experience that connects the MMO world with the new CCG. Played out within the pages of a living book the game focuses on quest building, allowing players to craft their own miniature RPGs against enemies, including classic RuneScape boss monsters, before entering into tense PvP combat. Mark Killey, senior producer on Chronicle, talks about the new game in this exclusive interview.
Where did the CCG come from here at Jagex?
We had been experimenting with mechanical prototypes of new RuneScape related games and one of those had an automated quest system, which told you afterwards what had happened to your character. We looked at this and wondered if there was a way we could turn it on its head by making a game in which you build a quest for your character to complete. This in turn lent itself to being structured with cards, so you would place down cards in a certain order to build a quest.&
We made some initial physical prototypes that we thought were good fun and proved the original concept. We then decided to start building a full digital prototype, which evolved into what we&re working on now.
Can you talk a little about the look and feel because this has a unique environment that you go and battle in?
The game is set inside a magical book, from which a 3D world emerges and builds in front of your eyes. Each of the worlds contains slots in which you place the cards and build the quest for your legend to complete.
What are some of the environments people will be playing in?
So far we&ve only revealed the Al Kharid desert area, but the final game will feature multiple different areas and environments taken from the world of RuneScape.& For example, Lumbridge is an obvious one for us to try out.& There will be different terrains for players to explore like ice, forests and some swamps.
Could you explain what the differentiator between the two card types is?
The two types you&ll encounter are Fight and Adventure cards. The Fight cards take the form of hostile characters that you&ll have to battle in order to earn gold or items. The Adventure cards are what you spend your they&ll give you buffs to your character to increase their health or damage levels.
Could you talk a little bit about the characters themselves, because the cards disappear?
You control a character who travels through the game world completing the quest you have laid out in front of them, battling or purchasing each card in turn. In the video we&ve revealed two different hero types, but the final version of the game will be a lot more to choose from. These are fully articulated 3D characters that you put down into the 3D world and explore. When you&re fighting a hostile character, your card will actually engage in combat with that card.
Could you talk about some of the combat that you&ll go up against, some of the different characters people will be fighting against that they&re familiar with from the video game?
Every single character and card you&ll see in Chronicle is taken from RuneScape. So when playing Chronicle you may find your legend battling famous characters from RuneScape such as the Queen Black Dragon or General Graardor. You&ll even find their stats are similar, so the tougher they are in RuneScape the tougher they are in Chronicle.
When it comes to each story or chapter, can you talk a little about how that progresses because it&s more than just one environment you&re going through?
Each environment has multiple pages wi these can also have varying slot effects that you can use to your advantage.& Each chapter will likely be between three to five pages we think at the moment.& Each of the pages will have different landmarks from the RuneScape world that you&ll be familiar with like the Dominion Tower. &
What does having PVP add to the playing field as you&re going through the game&s chapters?
PvP forms the core of the game. While your legend is completing the quest you&ve built for them, another player is doing the same thing. You also both have cards that can directly affect your opponent by doing things such as stealing their weapon or dealing damage to them. Each match consists of three rounds and at the end there is a battle to the death between the two legends, with the last person standing being the winner.
What are some of the ideas you guys are thinking about in terms of connecting this back into the MMO game experience?
We&re looking at a few ideas around this at the moment. The most likely thing is that you will be able to earn packs of cards as drops in RuneScape that you can then import into Chronicle. Another possibility is that if you&re a Runescape player, there may be things from Chronicle which you can then bring back into Runescape when you&re playing that game.& For non-Runescape players, all these elements would be optional so you can still enjoy the game the same way.
Can you talk about the platforms that it will be coming out on as well as the cross play capabilities?
The game is launching during 2015 on PC first before coming out on tablet and then mobile later on in the year.&
And people can play across any platform?
Yes. So someone on an iPad could boot up the game and play against opponents on a PC or mobile phone.

Brace yourselves, everyone. There have been a lot of big fall releases so far, but this is the week that a bunch of major titles hit all at once for just about every modern platform imaginable. Good thing that Target's having a Buy 2, Get 1 Free sale, isn't it? Thanks for the heads-up, as always, !
It's arguable who's leading the charge this week, but I'll go with Master Chief bringing the boom with Halo: The Master Chief Collection. If it's got Master Chief on it, it's here. Those looking to shift more towards Assassin's Creed have not one, but two options, with the next-gen Assassin's Creed Unity and the current-gen Assassin's Creed Rogue both hitting on Tuesday. And for those looking for more family-friendly options, there's LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and two Sonic Boom games hitting this week, as well. The list is massive and you can check it all out below.

Back on the 3rd of Novemeber Gamestop revealed that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare would indeed include a Zombies mode. However, the wording of the press reveal made it appear as if the mode would be hidden behind the $49.99 Season Pass.
Tech News World recieved word on the 4th that the Zombies mode would not be hidden behind the Season Pass, but will also be available for purchase at a lower price. Their contact, Kyle Walker, also stated that the mode was an Easter Egg for zombies fans and that it is their own take and style of Zombies.
It's exciting that it isn't hidden behind that $50 paywall, but just how much will it cost? That part hasn't been revealed yet.&

Hearthstone has already become an incredibly complex card game. The meta game has evolved gradually with the addition of each
and each . Now Blizzard is ready to blow the whole thing sky high with the upcoming
announced during BlizzCon. Shacknews had a chance to try out a handful of the 120 new cards during the event and can confirm that the game is about to change in a big way.
There were two sample decks available to try out: the Mage with a Goblin deck and the Priest with a Gnome deck, each offering a mixture of new and old cards. The first thing I noticed was the addition of the new 'Mech' class of cards. Similar to Murloc and Beast decks, a Mech deck can be insanely powerful when built with the right cards, especially since many of them are designed to play alongside one another.
These are some of the new cards I encountered during my time with Goblins vs. Gnomes:
Spider Tank (3 mana, 3/4) - This Mech minion has no additional effects, but with its relatively-high stats for such a low mana cost, expect this to become a staple in many decks. Only Priests will find no use for this card, since he gets the same line from , who has the added benefit of a Deathrattle effect.
Annoy-o-Tron (2 mana, 1/2) - You'd better believe he'll live up to his name, because Annoy-o-Tron has the benefit of Taunt and Divine Shield. This makes him a substantial replacement for .
Goblin Blastmage (4 mana, 5/4) - A great example of how synergy will work with these new cards, the Mage-exclusive Goblin Blastmage has a Battlecry effect of dealing 4 damage split among enemy characters if a friendly Mech is in play. The key word here is enemy characters, taking away the random risk element associated with something like . Its lower mana cost also effectively makes
Velen's Chosen (3 mana) - This Priest-only spell card gives a minion +2/+4 stats and gives it Spell Damage +1. That's an insane boost and could be killer on even the lowest tier of minion. It could be an even harder card to deal with when combined with .
Blingtron 3000 (5 mana, 3/4) - This is an interesting Mech, in that its Battlecry equips both players with a random weapon. This now means that any class in the game could potentially wield a weapon, though the random factor may turn some players off. Combining this with
seems like a no-brainer.
Piloted Sky Golem (6 mana, 6/4) - On their own, those stats have the potential to hurt. Now add in its Deathrattle effect that will summon a random 4-mana minion. Again, the random factor may be a turn-off, but those stats may be worth a roll of the dice. It may even call in a , which would be a heck of a reward.
Enhance-o Mechano (4 mana, 3/2) - Because Zoo decks just aren't powerful enough, here comes a Mech to make them that much more difficult to deal with. This Mech will give all friendly minions either Taunt, Windfury, or Divine Shield. That's insanely scary and... yes, you might have already guessed it... this is going to be unbearably brutal when combined with
and . Grab a helmet for this one.
Dr. Boom (7 mana, 7/7) - Now we're getting into some more ridiculous territory. The legendary-class Dr. Boom's stats are bonkers on their own, but he'll also summon in two 1/1 Boom Bots as a Battlecry effect. The Boom Bots each carry a Deathrattle effect that causes 1-4 damage to a random enemy (again, removing the risk element) character. Since there's two of them, a single Spellbreaker/ won't be enough to stop the pain and / may be best saved for the Doctor himself. In short, this one's going to hurt and you'll more than likely be seeing a lot of him when this expansion hits.
Sneed's Old Shredder (8 mana, 5/7) - Lastly, I came across this absolute beast. This legendary Mech carries the Deathrattle effect of summoning a random legendary minion. Silence or Polymorph/Hex will be essential when dealing with this monster, though his high defense makes him an unlikely kamikaze candidate. However, make no mistake about it. Shaman players are frothing at the idea of playing him alongside
and . Start planning counter-measures now!
There are also some old favorites that will thrive in a Mech deck. Harvest Golem, for example, has been reclassified as a Mech and will benefit greatly from some of these new minions and spells.
Other staples, aside from the ones listed earlier, likewise stand to benefit greatly from these new cards. With many of the cards I saw carrying Deathrattle effects, this expansion should be a feast for Undertaker. Meanwhile, minions with Silence effects, like Spellbreaker, are going to become an absolute necessity to fend off some of these brutal Deathrattle cards. Exactly which minions and spells stand to benefit the most from this new expansion, however, is a conversation for a future date.
My takeaway from this expansion so far is that it very much threatens to throw Hearthstone's balance for a major loop. Some of these cards are outrageously powerful on their own, but when combined with some of the cards already out there, they may just outright break the game. Keep in mind, this is just a small sample of what's coming. Blizzard has a total of 120 cards they're tossing out there, any of which has the potential to shatter the game's delicate balance in their own way.
Hearthstone fans will be approaching Goblins vs Gnomes with cautious optimism when it releases in December.

When Blizzard canceled its
earlier this year, CEO Mike Morhaime cited one simple reason. It just wasn't fun. A Blizzard game isn't a Blizzard game without fun.
By that criteria, there should be no such issue with Overwatch. The
during yesterday's BlizzCon opening ceremonies indicated a project with fun, variety, and passion. Shacknews went hands-on with Blizzard's foray into team-based multiplayer shooters during the big event and came away with positive vibes for this game's future.
Overwatch pits two sides against one another, with each players selecting one of twelve available characters:
Tracer (Offense) - A flighty youngster with the ability to use time travel to her advantage. Tracer is one of the game's quickest characters, able to use her Blink ability to avoid enemy fire and teleport behind foes before they can even react. She can also use her Recon skill to travel back a few seconds to restore her health and ammo to that point, offering a sort of a mulligan.
Reaper (Offense) - An agent of death, Reaper is one of the few characters with a passive ability to collect fallen souls and restore health. His twin shotguns are crazy powerful, as is his ability to teleport to a select location using his Shadow Step ability. He can also pass through walls with his Wraith Form ability, but cannot fire his weapons while doing so.
Widowmaker (Defense) - There aren't a lot of frills to Widowmaker, as she's the game's sniper. While her Widow's Kiss sniper rifle can pluck enemies from afar (even getting me quite a few times), it can also be switched to an automatic at a moment's notice. Widowmaker can protect her position with a Venom Mine or escape danger with the aid of her Grappling Hook.
Winston (Tank) - The giant gorilla Winston can withstand loads of punishment, but can also dish it out with his Tesla Cannon. His Jump Pack allows him to deliver a powerful leaping ground pound, while his Shield Projector can protect nearby allies.
Pharah (Offense) - Armed with her rocket launcher, Pharah is a fun character to play and an extremely annoying adversary to encounter. Her Jump Jet allows her to take flight, which lets her position herself behind enemies and also fly around obstacles like sentries. She's hard to take down when she's airborn and she can further irritate foes with her Concussive Blast rocket that deals knockback damage.
Reinhardt (Tank) - Think of this guy as a futuristic paladin. Reinhardt wields a powerful Rocket Hammer, allowing him to dish out heavy melee blows. His more useful function, however, is on the front line. His Shield puts up a massive broad energy pane that can absorb enemy shots and take substantial damage before breaking. This is a crucial tool to protect teammates, even if it momentarily takes away his hammer.
Symmetra (Support) - This character's Photon Projector isn't a very powerful weapon, unless it's charged. However, she's still a force to be reckoned with, thanks to her Sentry Turrets, which can be placed on the ground or along walls. Symmetra can have many of these out at once and they can be killer, as indicated by a whopping 11-kill streak that I racked up during my time with her. She can also help allies with a Photon Shield that momentarily boosts their defense, while deploying a teleporter that leads back to the team's spawn point.
Torbjorn (Defense) - If Reinhardt is a future paladin, Torbjorn is a future dwarf. The diminutive defender can use his Rivet Gun to defend himself at close range, but his main function is his Build Turret ability. These turrets hit just as hard as Symmetra's sentries, but Torbjorn has the bonus of being able to upgrade his turrets with his Forge Hammer. If turrets aren't dealt with, they can become massive multi-barreled, rocket-launching monstrosities.
Bastion (Defense) - The mechanical Bastion isn't content to build turrets. He is a turret! Bastion can use his Configuration: Siege ability to transform into a stationary turret that can help him hold chokepoints or guard points of interest. He can also use his Self-Repair ability to heal himself in a pinch, but he's vulnerable in this state, so find a safe spot.
Hanzo (Offense) - This archer is one of the few players that can use verticality to his advantage. Hanzo has the ability to climb walls, which gives him a fine vantage point for his Storm Bow, which can deal punishment on its own or with Sonic and Scatter Arrow abilities. Hanzo's arrows reach a pretty good distance, making him ideal for someone looking for the marksmanship of a sniper without focusing on defense.
Mercy (Support) - This medic doesn't focus on fighting so much, though she can defend herself with her Caduceus Blaster when absolutely necessary. Instead, she uses her Caduceus Staff to heal allies and also boost their damage output. She can also use her Guardian Angel ability to swoop in and save allies that are on the brink of defeat.
Zenyatta (Support) - The guru of the team, Zenyatta enters the battlefield with an array of orbs. The Orb of Destruction is his main projectile for offense. The time that I spent playing with him, however, was spent more using the Orb of Harmony and the Orb of Discord. The former can be used to slowly restore ally health, saving them from tight spots. The latter is used to reduce opponent defenses, causing them to take more damage from ally fire. Zenyatta is most useful when staying in the shadows and close to teammates.
The are many familiar elements of previous third-person shooters that can be found in Overwatch. The stylized animation is reminiscent of Team Fortress 2 and Super Monday Night Combat. There's a control point capture and 'Payload' mode that plays very similarly to Valve's team-based shooter, while the map design carries familiar-looking layouts and vertical combat. Maps, like the lotus blossom-filled Hamamura, are suited to each of the characters roles and abilities. There are enough safe spots for snipers to take aim, there are enough open spaces for direct melee combat and shootouts, there are enough walls and corridors for turret placement, and there are enough safe spots for Support classes to do their work.
However, the characters, their roles, and their attacks are uniquely Blizzard. While it would be easy to create a by-the-numbers shooter, Blizzard looks to be borrowing elements of other genres to help make Overwatch a more enticing package. Beyond their team roles, these characters all have special abilities and 'Ultimate' skills that make Overwatch feel more like a MOBA. While control point games felt like a standard game of Team Fortress 2, right down to its opening countdown phase, the MOBA-like abilities gave it an additional degree of complexity. The abilities also lend themselves greatly to teamwork, encouraging additional strategy. This isn't the kind of game to support a 'lone wolf' mentality, with a few exceptions like the high-flying Pharah.
My time with Overwatch was very limited, but I'm anxious to spend more time with it. The combat is solid, but the game stands out for its characters and the manner in which their individual abilities help bolster the team aesthetic. This is only the beginning for Overwatch, but I feel like it's off to a great start.

, Ubisoft had pulled its upcoming fall games from Steam, which included Assassin&s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, The Crew, and additional games. The titles first went missing in the United Kingdom, but shortly after, their disappearance spread to additional regions worldwide. This morning, it appears Ubisoft&s fall lineup have returned onto Steam and are currently available for pre-order in the US.
Neither Ubisoft nor Valve have made any official comments as to the possible cause of the disappearance of the publisher&s digital goods from Steam. Earlier in the week, an Ubisoft rep informed PCGamesN that the company has been in discussion with Valve in regards to Assassin&s Creed Unity, and because of these talks, the title was not available on Steam in the UK. The rep suggested those who wished to purchase Assassin&s Creed Unity digitally can head on over to the Uplay Store our one of the publisher&s retail partners or other digital distributors.
Shacknews has reached out to both Ubisoft and Valve in order to learn of the reason why their fall lineup went missing for several hours earlier this week. If we hear anything, I&ll be sure to update this story accordingly.

XSEED Games has announced its latest action-RPG game, AKIBA&S TRIP: Undead & Undressed, is making its way to PlayStation 4 just in time for some serious turkey carving as the title will be released on November 25.
AKIBA&S TRIP: Undead & Undressed has players fighting their way through Tokyo&s famous &Electric Town& district, Akihabara. You play as Nanashi as he attempts to stop an evil force of vampiric monsters from abducting otaku from the area to be used for devious purposes. Synthisters, as they&re called, are defeated through attacking specific body parts, which weakens their clothes, and ripping them off to expose their pantsu, or underwear for those who don&t watch as much anime as I do.
The PlayStation 4 version of the game introduces a number of improvements over the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions, which includes enhanced visuals with 1080p support, a Toybox Mode that allows players to start the game with one of every available weapon and clothing item, and a Visual Editor, which allows players to completely customize nearly every aspect of the look of the game, even allowing livestream viewers to directly affect the player&s experience through the use of specific chat commands.
AKIBA&S TRIP: Undead & Undressed will be available across participating retailers as well as digital download on November 25 for $49.99. If you can&t wait that long, the PS3 and PS Vita versions are currently available for $39.99.
I played both the Vita and PS3 versions when they originally released a few months back and I really enjoyed this game. I personally have always wanted to visit Japan, especially Akihabara, so it allowed me to get a taste of it while also experiencing a pretty funny story and impressive fighting mechanics. So I'm pretty excited for the PS4 version to be released later this month.
