The combination of North's ace-knave and South's three

At this eighth trick South discards the six of clubs
and West is
in trouble.& Suppose West discards
the knave of
diamonds.&
If East wins another trick with the nine of
Trick 9, South and North both discard a diamond,
but West is
in further difficuties.& A spade or
concedes an immediate trick to South, and a club
enables South to finesse the ten of clubs when East
leads a club
at the next trick.
This is an example of a guard squeeze against West.& But
squeeze-card is the nine of hearts led by East.& It
is not a card
led by South.& Moreover, North is
now void in
clubs, and it
is East who leads a club at Trick 10.& The
situation is
in fact a suicide guard squeeze.
Returning to the six card situation above, North leads
the six of
hearts to East's seven.& West is subjected to
guard squeeze
and the knave of diamonds is discarded.& A
winner can now be set up in the North hand.& Suppose
leads a club instead of the nine of hearts at
Trick 9, then
South wins this trick with the ace of clubs,
North lets go a spade, and plays the ten of
diamonds.&
North-South win the last three tricks with the
ace-king of
spades and the nine of diamonds.& If West
discards the
queen of clubs at Trick 8 and East leads a club
at Trick 9,
South can finesse the ten of clubs.& Therefore
the above six
card ending is itself an against-any-defence
guard squeeze
situation.&
North-South have three winners out
of the six
remaining cards. &An additional trick
can be set
North-South by the squeeze.& It is a suicide
combining a
guard squeeze with a trick-establishing play.
Non-simultaneous double guard squeezes
In the single guard squeeze situations in Diagrams (76),
(78), one of the opponents is guard-squeezed: he is
guard-menaced
in the spade suit, and single-menaced in hearts
diamonds.&
The other opponent has no stoppers except in
the suit of
the guard menace.& If the latter holds
other than that of the guard menace, it is possible
that he will
be subjected to a simple squeeze in two suits,
guard menace is itself a double menace against both
opponents.
The combination of a guard squeeze against one opponent
and a simple
