Final Fantasy XIII was officially announced for the Playstation 3
at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles yesterday.
The intial trailer showed a very futuristic setting, one that we have
never seen in a Final Fantasy game before, and a female protagonist
(who could possible be the main character) fighting a bunch of guards.
Her weapon was a sort of "Gunblade" and no, not like Squall's, this one
was a gun that transformed into a blade.
The girl fought a bit like Yuna, jumping around and
pumping the bad guys full of lead. The battle system
seems very "active" and fluid as there was a mass of
enemies on screen and it looked like it went into a
cutscene and back out of it with no load times. The
game looks to be a true testement to the Playstation
3's power. Not much else is known about the game yet.

Now thats not all I got to say, as there was one last
very big surprise announced. Final Fantasy XIII will
not be just "one" game. It will almost be a franchise
in itself. As there is a prequel and sequel game ALREADY
announced, although not direct sequels, they will be in
the same universe as the main game. The prequel Final
Fantasy Agito XIII will be for mobiles, and the sequel
Final Fantasy VERSUS XIII will be for the Playstation 3.
Versus XIII will be an action game developed by the
Kingdom Hearts team.
The name for the whole FFXIII series
has been dubbed "Fabula Nova Crystallis".
FABULA NOVA CRYSTALLIS, defined in Latin as
"the new tale of the crystal," is made up of
several different titles based on variations
of the FINAL FANTASY XIII universe. However,
while each title in the project features
different characters, different worlds, and
different stories, all are ultimately based
on and expand upon a common mythos.

Final Fantasy XIII will run on the "White Engine",
a propietary engine built for Square Enix's
next-gen games. The game was originally planned for
the PlayStation 2 but was later moved to the PS3 after
the development team discovered the power of the platform.

After the release of Final Fantasy X|X-2 Remaster we where all wondering when Final Fantasy XII will get the same treatment and today at last Square Enix finally confirms it is coming to PlayStation 4 next year!
Just like Final Fantasy X|X-2, Final Fantasy XII will get a full visual and audio upgrade (though not to be confused with as a Remake like the upcoming Final Fantasy VII) and will feature the content from the International release in Japan, such as the 12 Job progression system (which was pretty fun!).
Here is the full list of what will be added as per the words of Square Enix:
Latest-generation high-definition graphical capabilities, including characters and movie scenes fully remastered in high-definition.
True 7.1 surround sound, including high-definition voicing and newly recorded background music utilizing the current generation of sound production.
Option to switch between the original and the newly remastered soundtrack.
New trial mode where players can take on monsters and enemies in up to 100 successive battles
Modern gameplay advancements including PlayStation (R) 4 system trophy support and share functionalities, auto-save and shortened loading times
An endless amount of gameplay and adventure including hunts, battles, and mini-games

During the special Final Fantasy XV Uncovered event in Los Angeles we got a quick glimpse at a surprise feature-length movie for Final Fantasy XV called Knigsglaive.
Featuring an impressive voice cast lead by Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, Sharpe) as King Regis, Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) as Kingsglaive soldier Nyx and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) as Princess Luna.

TGS'15 - Final Fantasy Type-0 Online Announced

With the news that both Final Fantasy Agito for smartphone and the recently announced Final Fantasy Agito+ for PlayStation Vita is no more for a new "reborn" title, Square Enix used Tokyo Game Show to reveal Final Fantasy Type-O Online for PC and smartphone.
Type-0 Online is once again set in the world of Orience. According to Square Enix, it is “set in a parallel world” to the original Final Fantasy Type-0. It will feature action RPG gameplay similar to the original Type-0 as well as online multiplayer.
It is being developed by Perfect World, a Chinese developer known for their work in online games (such as Perfect World [the game]). Final Fantasy Type-0 Online will launch in 2016 in Japan, and availability in North America and Europe is "currently under consideration."
TGS'15 - Final Fantasy XIV VR Tech Demo

Although not what I originally hoped for, there is a tech demo for Final Fantasy XIV running on the PlayStation VR (previously known as Project Morpheus in case you are wondering) at this years Tokyo Game Show.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Square Enix said "this is a demo that's been created for TGS, we don't have any plans for an official release." Which is a shame but hopefully they may decide to release it as one of those demos that will (hopefully) come with the PlayStation VR whenever that finally ships.
TGS'15 - New Final Fantasy Adventure Game

Unfortunately not much to go on at the moment but it has been confirmed that Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden (Final Fantasy Adventure) is being developed for the PlayStation Vita via SCEJA’s Tokyo Game Show 2015 website.
We should expect to see more once Tokyo Game Show gets into full swing starting the 17th September and will update once the information is available.

Square Enix have a released a new trailer for their upcoming chibi game World of Final Fantasy for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
Unfortunately there is no update on the release date but is still slated for 2016 and has already been confirmed for a western release.

Square Enix at gamescom 2015 has published a brand new trailer for upcoming Final Fantasy XV. Unfortunately it is all just cutscenes and no gameplay as the trailer focuses on 15 years prior to the actual game.
