meat chickens, and pastured turkeys.
It is our priority to be good
stewards of the land and animals God has entrusted to us. We focus on keeping
our animals on fresh, nutrient-rich pasture as much as weather and
seasons allow. All our animals are rotated/moved
to fresh pasture daily to insure the best feed and clean

In beef cattle, there is a documented relationship between
high butterfat content in the milk and superior marbling in the beef. And, a
scientific reason the
flavor and texture of the meat from smaller breeds given
longer to mature is so much finer. We have taken great pains to resist the
temptation to breed for
increased size and beef yield thereby preserving the rich

Love Lamb. We love to raise sheep and lambs. We love farming.
We would like to share this with you.
Baytree Farm is 180 acres of grass pasture and hayfields,
located in southern Venango County just minutes from Interstate 80. We
have lived here over 30 years and run around 200 ewes.
We are a pasture-based, grass fed lamb producing

At Baytree Farm we produce various size lambs for
different markets. Many of our lambs are sold at 60&75 pounds live weight
and are in high demand. We do have larger lambs for specific customer needs. Whole or half lamb can be shipped nationwide, from a USDA inspected facility, which follows humane handling procedures. We accept credit cards and make every effort to accommodate special requests. Please visit our website for more details.
We strive to do our absolute best for our sheep and
lambs as well as all of our animals. We have been given the opportunity
and privilege of raising sheep on our farm and work very hard to provide
the most humane and conservation-minded environment for them. We have
most recently completed and passed the first phase of the Sheep
Safety and Quality Assurance Program sponsored by the American Sheep Industry
Association.

found that healthy soils are the foundation for sustainable
agricultural production of any kind. We are farming two small
farms using beef cows and ewes as our primary soil
building partners. We use no antibiotics, growth hormones,
chemical wormers, pesticides, herbicides, or commercial fertilizers.
We seek to be good stewards of the Susquehanna River watershed
in which we live and farm. Managing our grasslands for grass-nesting
birds while protecting and improving the health of the streams,
wetlands, shrubland, and forest habitats are as important
to us as the health and productivity of our livestock.
For eight years we have been using line-bred Black Angus
genetics from Sam Wylie's old-time purebred herd in Bedford
County, PA. Our cattle are selected for their ability to
thrive in a low-input environment. Sam's bulls have excelled
at improving our cow herds' fertility, mothering ability,
and efficiency at producing excellent quality beef with a
minimum of fuss.
Our calves are slaughtered at between 18-24 months of age,
and produce carcasses between 550 and 750 pounds, depending

&finish.& We sell most
of our steer calves by the whole, half, or quarter and also
try to keep an inventory of steaks, roasts, stew meat, beef
sausage, minute steaks, short ribs, and extremely high quality
ground beef on hand for retail sales.
Our ewe flock is line-bred to purebred North Country Cheviot
rams. While not as prolific as many popular sheep breeds,
we like their hardiness, excellent feet even under wet pasture
conditions, mothering ability, and high quality lamb carcasses.
Our lambs generally dress out between 40-55 pounds. Along
with whole freezer lambs, we carry an inventory of
delicious lamb sausage, chops, leg and shoulder roasts.

as responsible stewards in our relationship with the earth
and what it can provide.
Common Ground has 82 acres in the Appalachian Mountains
of Central Pennsylvania, including mountainside pastures and natural
wooded areas.
We work hard to build healthy soil, which is the
foundation of our organic system. Cover crops, compost, mowing, rotation
among livestock species and natural habitat form the basis of our pasture
system. We do not use synthetic fertilizers.
Lambs are raised on 100% certified organic pasture
and hay. They receive no grain and have access to pasture 24 hours a
day, all year long. Turkeys and chickens sold as broilers are raised
on free-range pasture. Hens producing eggs are on free-range pasture
or in a large portable pen. In addition to pasture, all poultry eat 100%
certified organic whole and ground grains. They also eat a lot of leftover
organic vegetables! No antibiotics, parasite medications or hormones

Coulter Farms lies quietly nestled
between Shade Mountain and Tuscarora Mountain in Juniata
County, midway between Harrisburg and State College. We are
proud producers of exceptional grass fed beef,
lamb, pork, free-range eggs,
raw milk cheeses from our own Certified Organic 100% Grassfed Jersey cows (up to 9 varieties), and honey.
Our family manages the rotational grazing of 120
acres of rolling multi-speciated pasture and 90 acres of productive hay
fields (organic as of Fall, 2007). We practice a purely organic farming
system, relying exclusively on biological systems to achieve excellence
in our soils/pastures/harvested forage/animals. Rotational grazing, cover
crops, composting of manure, no-tillage seeding and conservative crop
rotations are used extensively. Only the cleanest water runs off our
land. We have eliminated all chemical, synthetic, antibiotic inputs and
strive to reduce fossil fuel use while making the best possible use of
solar fuel.
Ruminant animals at Coulter Farms never taste any
form of grain...only mother's milk, lush pasture and fermented hay. Our
two-year-old steers (8-month-old lambs) are fully finished, giving ample
marbling to the meat. This marbling produces the highest levels of CLA
and Omega 3's (not to mention taste and tenderness) in the meat. Wintering
beef over a second winter to an age of 24-26 months is time-consuming,
but we feel you'll agree that it is well worth the wait.
Processing is handled humanely in a local, USDA certified
abattoir. Two to three weeks aging results in the highest levels of taste
and tenderness. The product is skillfully cut, flash-frozen and cryo-vac
packed to maximize quality and longevity.
A walk-in freezer at our farm allows us to maintain
some inventory of meat, but most animals are pre-ordered (you may come
select your animal on the hoof' if you like). Beef is available in quarters
(approximately 100 pounds), halves or
whole animals.
We would appreciate the opportunity to provide your
family with what is, we are confident, the best meat available in the
grass-fed market. Call or email us for more information. If you come
to see us, please remember to bring your kids and boots so we can show
you around.

Diamond G Farm is family-owned and operated, and located in the north end
of fertile Lancaster County PA, within 5 minutes of the PA turnpike and Route
222. We offer non-GMO Pasture-Raised Broiler Chickens, and Pasture-Raised Eggs.
We move the broiler chickens out to pasture as soon as they are old
enough to safely leave the brooder house. On pasture they eat a large amount of
grass, seeds, and bugs and receive a locally produced non-GMO supplemental
feed. We move the birds daily to a paddock of new pasture for a new supply of
food and a clean environment. When it is time for harvesting, we slaughter the
chickens on our farm with modern processing equipment and pack them in vacuum
bags ready for your freezer.
Our broiler chickens are raised naturally. They are not fed any GMOs, and
are not given any antibiotics or growth enhancers/hormones. Our pastures are
not sprayed with any pesticides. We raise Freedom Ranger chickens as they are
aggressive foragers on pasture and produce tender, delicious meat. The hatchery
is very local to us, so the chicks do not spend any time in the mail.
Our laying hens live in a large mobile wagon with modern feed and water
systems to insure they receive the proper supplemental nutrition. The wagon
doors open at the crack of dawn allowing them out to a large area of lush
pasture within a protective fence that keeps predators at bay. Every few days they
move to new pasture. The eggs are brown
shelled with nice dark orange yolks.

The Dickinson College Farm manages
its grass-fed livestock using a rotational grazing program. All of the
livestock are raised on pasture, eating only grass, clovers, and wild herbs for
their nutritional needs, supplemented by stored hay in the winter months. Our
cattle are never fed corn, soybeans, other grains, or any growth promoting
substances. Grass-fed cattle improve the farm's soil through managed
grazing, all the while gaining nutrition and health from the fresh air and
clean diet of our pastures.
Farm Apprentices and student farmers actively manage the
livestock, caring for them daily by ensuring that they have ample access to
fresh grass, water and shade throughout the year. Their care and love for the
animals is reflected in the relationships that they foster with our cows, sheep
and chickens over the course of their time at the farm.
The Dickinson College Farm is proud to provide grass-fed,
humanely-raised beef and lamb for the campus community. We hope that our efforts to care
for, respect and love these animals is reflected in the quality of meat that
you eat. In recognition of our efforts to provide exemplary care for our
livestock, we are in the certification process through the Animal Welfare
Approved program, and anticipate gaining the AWA seal of approval this coming
spring. Farm customers are welcome to visit the livestock and ask the
farm crew about how the animals are raised.

Our poultry comes from chickens that have free access to pasture, fresh water and fresh

The Grateful Life Farm is husband and wife team Shawn Witherup and Leah Wilson. We raise broiler chickens, laying hens, meat rabbits, and heritage breed Thanksgiving turkeys on pasture and grow vegetables using organic methods on 43 acres in Rockland Township, Venango County. Our passion is exceptional animal husbandry, which is the foundation for all of our livestock systems and practices.
All of our livestock are raised outdoors on pasture. Our Cornish Cross broilers are housed in open-bottomed pens from 3 weeks of age to slaughter, moved daily to clean pasture (twice daily in their last week). Our laying hens and Standard Bronze turkeys are confined to a mobile shelter at night and range inside portable electric net fence during the day. Our meat rabbits are raised in a combination of stationary hutches and portable pasture pens, moved daily, depending on the season and on their reproductive status. Our systems are designed to improve our soils and pastures, provide shelter, predator protection and a hygienic environment, and allow our animals to express their natural species tendencies. All feeds are non-GMO, and our laying hens' feed is also soy-free.
To spare our livestock the stress of transport to a slaughter facility, we have recently constructed a PA state inspected facility for on-farm slaughter. We are able to control our product from start to finish, offering our livestock gentle and low-stress handling, and ensure the highest degrees of cleanliness and food safety.
We also produce a limited variety of vegetables including head lettuces, greens, garlic and herbs, using all-natural methods. Compost and fish meal are used for fertility. We discourage weeds through the use of tarps, fabrics, and hand-pulling, and pest control is accomplished through methods such as row covers, traps, and sparing use of natural insecticides such as spinosad.

Our farm offers fresh, all natural pastured chickens and turkeys raised
in movable pens that are moved daily for a clean paddock. We process

and follow the dairy cows. Our cows are grass-fed Jersey and give delicious,
creamy milk. We sell raw milk and cheese.
Our animals do not receive any synthetic hormones
or antibiotics. We strive for well-balanced mineral-rich soils using
only natural amendments, including compost.
