Other Reports of Asteroid/TNO Companions
compiled by Wm. Robert Johnston
last updated 29 December 2017
This listing of other reported/postulated asteroid/TNO companions may be incomplete.
It includes 293 asteroids:
269 suggested binaries, plus 17 cases where subsequent analysis and/or observations have refuted the existence of a companion, plus one object suggested to have rings, plus six confirmed binaries where an unconfirmed third component is proposed.
Note there are two distinct reports each for (2) Pallas and (146) Lucina.
Some diameter figures are triaxial dimensions from shape models which supercede the interpretations suggesting the presence of a companion.
Additional data for these asteroids/TNOs are available on .
(Note that the delineation between the most likely candidates on this list and the least likely candidates on the previo corrections are welcome.)
