“We should not a rove the busine loan a lication of the local group that wants to open a franchise outlet for the Kool Kone chain of ice cream parlors. De ite the lack of competition, the Frigid Cow’s net revenues fell by 10 percent last winter.

Since the mall has opened, a number of local busine es have closed, and the downtown area suffers from an acute parking shortage, and arrests for crime and vagrancy have increased in the nearby Oak City Park. 44. The following is part of a busine plan created by the management of the Megamart grocery store.
“Our total sales have increased this year by 20 percent since we added a pharmacy section to our grocery store. Clearly, the customer’s main concern is the convenience afforded by one-stop sho ing. The surest way to increase our profits over the next couple of years, therefore, is to add a clothing department along with an automotive su lies and repair shop. We should also plan to continue adding new departments and services, such as a restaurant and a garden shop, in su equent years. Being the only store in the area that offers such a range of services will give us a competitive advantage over other local stores.”
22. “Clearly, government has a re o ibility to su ort the arts. However, if that su ort is going to produce anything of value, government must place no restrictio on the art that is produced.”

Stores that sell products for the home reported that, on average, their profits increased during this same period. Clearly, co umers are choosing to buy products for their homes i tead of clothing. Being the only center in the area offering this range of activities would give us a competitive advantage in the health and recreation market.
AI: 111。Because of recent advancements in busine and technology, the overall quality of life in most societies has never been better than at the present time.

三十七、AA是31题,“Studies suggest that an average coffee drinker’s co umption of coffee increases with age, from age 10 through age 60. Even after age 60, coffee co umption remai high. The average cola drinker’s co umption of cola, however, declines with increasing age. Both of these trends have remained stable for the past 40 years. Given that the number of older adults will significantly increase as the population ages over the next 20 years, it follows that the demand for coffee will increase and the demand for cola will decrease during this period. We should, therefore, co ider tra ferring our investments from Cola Loca to Early Bird Coffee.

1.。。。。。 the power ......

有一题 选项有.... the child emotio ---- , v....

d regardle of good or bad,
3.。。。。。 the power ......
a to destroy
b of destroying
c to be destroied
archeologist unearth sth _______
A dated to be 500 years old
B dated at 500 years old
我选A, 我当时觉得,应当是be dated at a particular time, be dated to be how many years old, 没有把握,所以能记得
5.the original sentence mentioned thathomeland of an Indian tribe west of Arizona, bisected by the borders between U.S. and Mexico... . One choice mentioned .. an Indian tribe’s homeland west of which changed the meaning of the original sentence. Be careful!!
6.有考compared with, compare to; Like A, B...
7.只记得当时遇到一个many a + n.
8.还有一道,考的是 no +n. so ... as...
4,to do sth, do sth, and do sth,
11.including的用法,有两题;
12.Not until
14.也有考not…but rather的用法
15. 考de ite、although用法
(In April……)
17. like v.s. such as
18. A(复数名词) were to blame for(我选这个)…… were to be blamed for
19. not only …but also…
20. in order to V(in order可省略)/ for Ving (我选for因为较简洁)
21. increase、rise
as much as 不可数名词 + as many as可数名词=>在同一题出现
D regardle of bad or good
E regardle of whether bad or good
25. dated to be/at.
B.unlike , include e ays in his sth
C.unlike ’s sth, ’s sth includes e ays.
28. after doing sth

3.black people:
one person doen not concertrate on the ‘ Great Immigration’ but on pro(一个单词)(有题,时间对应),before the first world war(1914), .....1914-1925(Great Immigration), Great Depre ion(193), ...even , the first laid off is such blacck people , after world war II , 大批黑人涌入(有题)
4.women:
some economists think incease of the save rate will do good for the economy beacuse the save will benefit the invest the company did, but
black people:
one person doen not concertrate on the ‘ Great Immigration’ but on pro(一个单词)(有题,时间对应),before the first world war(1914), .....1914-1925(Great Immigration), Great Depre ion(193), ...even , the first laid off is such blacck people , after world war II , 大批黑人涌入(有题)
8.women:
some economists think incease of the save rate will do good for the economy beacuse the save will benefit the invest the company did, but
14.Two schools of busine thoughts: environmental determinists and strategic choices. environmental determinists deem that a company can not change the busine context factors, but can adopt marketing method in the context. E.g., method of product life cycle theory.
However, strategic choices su orters think that a company can manipulate certain factors. E.g., a cereal company change the taste of customers so that not only young people eat it in breakfast, more adults eat--sales increased.
15.In the decades before 1870s, black slaves in South try to get freedom. Some of the slaves works for themselves on land and sell their products, using the money to purchase freedom from their owners.
Some other slaves be hired out of their owners’ place and even do small trades to make money to purchase freedom.
However, the scholar (forget the name) overlooked the su ort from organizatio set up by free Blacks. For example, in Washington, DC, these orgs hire blacks (give them work o ortunity to make money), provide shelters to them if they have to work outside their original city, buy commodities sold by slaves, and arrange tra ortation for them.
One question on the pa age is: The black orgs su ort the slaves in the following ways EXCEPT:
Two choices are confusing: one--buying their goods, two--buying their commodities. Key: one, the orgs didnot buy goods, which mea products produced by slaves on the land. In the article, commodity mea thing sold by slaves doing small busine .

some economists think incease of the save rate will do good for the economy beacuse the save will benefit the invest the company did, but
22.personal saving am corporate investment,(注意,不是GWD里面那题corporate investment 和real interest rate!!!)
这是因为,个人储蓄增加使得the pool of overall available capital thus brings down the borrowing interest rate for companies也变大.
23.GWD-12-Q35 to GWD-12-Q37

我选的是认为A的观点建立在u u orted a umptio .
题目四:主题题,我选的是a phenomenon advanced, and three different explanation of po ible co equences discu ed
但实际上,choice can sometime be u roductive, and even counterproductive.
我选的是a example of further su ort of the main topics

38.. inequality was eliminated<- refute
A:经济类
some economists think incease of the save rate will do good for the economy beacuse the save will benefit the invest the company did, but
40.personal saving am corporate investment,(注意,不是GWD里面那题corporate investment 和real interest rate!!!)

但实际上,choice can sometime be u roductive, and even counterproductive.

题目之二:主题:提出a change并以 three different explanation 解释之
而只有到了16-17世纪才开始wide read experiments methodology(有题, 一个tricky 选项, 有experiment就是现代科学,我认为不对,是要大量科学实验), 最后还是认为16-17世纪确实才是现代科学起源,但是是因为科学实验大量应用得原因.
56.讲venus表面的l膌ava。有学者说venus上的lava和月球表面的什么什么rill差不多,作者说不对,差多了。lava很浅,很长,流的方式也不一样,还有沉积物,跟那个什么rill根本不同(有题:问以下都是lava不同于。。rill的地方,EXCEPT, 眩? 有人推测说lava的形成是一种类似火山喷发的东西造成的,但是这推测不对,因为那玩意一喷发,出来的流质会很快凝固,并且会很深,不像lava那么浅。… … 最后提出lava根地球上一种的carbonate流质最相近?o: gt;

One of these three questio , unlike the other two which contained two boldface sentences, only had one sentence in bold face, and you are su osed to choose one of the five choices to replace it so that the argument is still valid. For me, I think it is similar to paraphrase.
2.weaken a ertion that people should use the new watering system in their yars in stead of using the conventional system.
3.有一体逻辑,有一种药 , 它的目的是eliminate some virus, even in the test there are no signal of such virus, it still say the medicine have the effect., since___
d It cost twice time to have the result
e some minor signal can’t be tested in the current situation, 我选了E
4.One can estimate the age of earth(?) given that the amount of the salt in the global ocean is known and the co tant rate of salt flow from land to ocean is know. Which of the following may weak the reasoning?
See GWD.
5.Cells reproduce new cells when gelemere(?) still exists. After gelemere exhaust, cells stop reproducing. However, gelemere of cancer cells will not be exhausted--so keep reproducing. A new su tance can reduce the amount of gelemere(?), thus it can be used to controll cancer.
Which of the follow weak the reasoning?
I selected: without gelemere, red cells stop creating blood-(something like that).
7.GWD- Springfield and Harristown hotel 那题 Each claims that their hotels have the most tourists.....This was my last question, I had 3 minutes left, but just couldn’t remember the a wer nor figure it out because I was a little too nervous.... 咳....
问a umption.
11.boldface
12.GWD #13 Q38
Frobisher, a sixteenth-century English explorer, had soil samples from Canada’s Kodlunarn Island examined for gold content. Because high gold content was reported, Elizabetg I funded two mining expeditio . Neither expedition found any gold there. Modern analysis of the island’s soil indicates a very low gold content. Thus the methods used to determine the gold content of Frobisher’s samples must have been inaccurate.
Q: Which of the following is an a umption on which the argument depends?
A : (E) Gold was not added to the soil samples collected by Frobisher before the samples were examined.

10!/9!=10
12*12*10*12/8*8
1feet=10寸
t-5-9-7-8
e-f-2- -1
the structure is right, not the figure.Every figure is equal to the nearest two figure in the line above with the right one ustracted from the left( 每个数字等于靠他最近的上一个行左边的数字减去右边的数字),题目很长,我看了半天才看出来。
从第二行得f-2=3,f=5;e-f=6,e=11;
13.There is one survey testing 60 people who taste the three different flavor icecream : V(allina), C(hocolate) and S(trawberry). All the people do the survey and rank them , there are no situation that two flavor rank equally, 3/5 of people rank V worst. 1/10 of them( 我觉得这里还是60 rank v ahead of C ,1/3 of them rank v ahead of s, ? how many people rank v first?
60(1/10 + 1/3)- 60(1-3/5)=2
number of people donation
10 $100,000
10 $50,000
70 $10,000
60 $25,000
50 $5,00
median=10000
6. 6^14*5^13-6^13*5^14=30^13
6^14*5^13-6^13*5^14= 6^13*5^13(6-5)= 30^13
17.the function h(n) is defined to be product of
all the integers from 2 to 8, inclusive.
h可以表示成h=(2^n)*(3^m)*(5^k)*(7^l)
求:n+m+k+l=?
h=8!=2* 3 *(2^2) * 5*(2*3) *7 * (2^3)
so, k=l=1, n=1+2+1+3=7, m=1+1=2,
so,n+m+k+l=11.
18. One person have quarters coi twice as many as dime coi , he also have half many five cents coi as dime coi , ? the total money of quarters /total money of five cents.(20:1)
vq:vc=25*4:5=100:5=20:1。
19. One person come from A (a roximiatedly New York) to B(Chicago) and back from a different way. (下面有点就不清了,不过反映的思路应该是对的)The average eed from A to B is 30 kilometers/ hour. What is the everage eed of total route?
(1) When he comes back, the average eed is 2/3 of the eed he come forth.
(2) the route he comes forth is 1/5 longer than that of he comes back of the total route.
设A到B的距离是X,B到A的距离是Y
(1)从B到A的速度是30*2/3=20KM/hour,(X+Y)/(X/30+Y/返回速度)=(X+Y)/(X/30+Y/20)
(2)X=6/5Y
22.In the xy plane, the diameter of one circle is 4 (the center of this circle is at (0,0)), one line is perpendicular to the circle at (-sqrt(2), sqrt(2)) (注意,这儿就是“根号2 ”,我不知怎么打 ,原体没有这个问题, what is the slope of this line?
e sqrt(2)
条件 (2)OB=OC
24.xyz != 0, w/x = x/y = y/z, 问w/z = ?
C w2/x2
D w2/x3
w/x=x/y=y/z; = z= y^2/x= xy/w; = w/z= w/ (y^2/x)= wx/y^2
since y^2/x= xy/w= y= x^2/w; = w/z= w/ (y^2/x)= wx/y^2= wx/ (x^4/w^2)=w^3/x^3
w/z=w^3/x^3
The set {z,y,x,w} is a geometric progre ion , the same factor q = w/x = x/y = y/z , so w/z = q^3 = w^3/x^3
140*5280/3600
28. for certain purchase, the amount exceeds 2000 and lower than 5000 gets 1% discount, the amount exceeds 5000 get 2% discount, if the total discount is 1.3% for one purchase, what is the total amount?
设amount of charge 为X
[(5000-2000)*1%+(x-5000)*2%]/x=1.3%
X=10000
29. For some telephone call record, the average daily phone call range in July is 7, the average daily phone call range in August is 10, what is the minimum range of daily phone call for July and August?
(-1/2, 0)
1000-1/x无穷大--- -1/1000 31. a, b 0, xy system, y=3ax^2+bx+c, 这条线和x轴的交点有几个?
(1) b^212ac
(2) 4ac(not sure about this one)
32. one rectangular, with one side 18 feet, the other side 12 feet.
(1) the area of the first kind of square 小板 is 36, the area of the other kind of square 小板is 72
(2) the first kind 小板 is rectangular with 16 inches and 8 inches, the second kind is square 边长是6 inches, used the same amount of these two kinds of小板
16X+6X=18*12,X=10
8X+6X=12*12,X=12
取X=12,共12*2=24
(1) AD=DC
(2) AC垂直 BO
(1)AD=DC,AO=CO,DO=DO
因为BD=D0,所以DO=BO/2=AO/2
所以AB=AO
34. rounded number of x^2
1).rounded number of x为3
2). rounded number of x^
36. A car saves 50% of its gas when travling at 40-miles/hour than travling at 80-miles/hour. If the car uses 1 gallon at 40 m/h, how much gas would it use when traveling at 80-miles/hour.
1/50%=2
37. Credit card JJ
38. [X^(n-1) - 1]/(X-1)=X^(n-1)+X^(n-2)...+X^2+X+1, if 7+7^1+7^2+......7^8=6,546,721 (it doe t matter the number, I could be wrong), 7^9 =?
a) 6(6,546,721)+1
b) 6(6,546,721+1)
c) (6,546,721)/6 +1
应为 [X^n - 1]/(X-1)=X^(n-1)+X^(n-2)...+X^2+X+1,1+7^1+7^2+......7^8=XXXX
1.5*40+120/1.5+2.5=45
(1.5*40+120)/(1.5+2.5)=45
40. xy座標上有一個圓, 圓心在原點, line k tangent the circle (和圓相切) at (-√2, √2) 問line k斜率 1
此概率=m*n
(2) a0 我選A
45. f(x)=0.1x if 0100如果f(x)=100, x=? 190
0 x100,f(x)=x-9010
46. 某數列a0=1, a1=2, an+1=3(an-1)+an-1, a4=? 99
(10x+40y)/(x+y)=18 x:y=11:4
